Description
I designed the April Baby Bonnet because I wanted a simple, go-to pattern that actually stays on. It’s a classic stockinette piece worked flat, using German Short Rows to get that snug, rounded fit around the back of the head.
I’ve finished it with an attached i-cord that transitions straight into the ties. It gives the edges a clean, sturdy look without extra bulk.
Why I think you’ll like it:
-
It’s fast: Since it only takes about 25–45g of yarn, it’s my favorite way to use up high-quality leftovers from bigger projects.
-
No guesswork: I’ve included a full video tutorial for the 1–3 month size so we can walk through the shaping and the i-cord together.
-
The fit: It’s designed to be functional. It won’t slide off or lose its shape after the first wear.

Note: This is a PDF download, not a finished bonnet. You’ll get the link immediately after purchase. Because it’s a digital file, I can’t offer refunds, but I’m always here if you hit a snag with the instructions.
I’m looking forward to seeing what colors you choose!
